About this nanny job

Seeking a responsible and loving part-time nanny/family helper for our 3 children. The older two children are often involved in after-school activities and at least 1 parent is often around to assist with care, so nanny may only be helping with 1 or 2 kids at a time. Minimum hours: Mon-Fri 4:30-7:30pm, with ability to occasionally arrive earlier and stay later for date nights as needed. There is some flexibility in the days and schedule for the right candidate! Ability to provide additional weekend day &/or night support is a definite plus! Two previous childcare work references required. Ideal Candidate has experience caring for multi-age siblings including toddlers and preschoolers, a "third-parent" mentality & a passion for childhood development & engaging children in developmentally appropriate activities. Ideal Candidate is loving, nurturing, curious, thoughtful, calm, organized & adaptable. Must have superb communication skills with both the parents & our children. Must be comfortable and collaborative in partnering with parents in caring for the children. Must be comfortable around the kitchen & able to follow guidance from parents. Safe experienced driver a plus, however driving is not a must. Family will provide a car to use on the job. Flu shots and up-to-date vaccinations including COVID-19 booster required. Must practice and model proactive healthy hygiene practices like handwashing. We prefer a candidate who is bilingual in English & Spanish, but not required. Spanish-speaking only is ok! Responsibilities include: Transition older children from school to after-school activities & home; keeping them clean and organized Preparing meals for the kids & post-meal clean-up Occasionally driving children to/from school, appointments & activities (family provides car) Tidying up after children Helping with homework Initiating & participating in enriching activities Playing sports & exercising Story time & reading Connecting during “just hanging out” time Assisting with bedtime & bathtime Straightening up the kids’ toys & belongings put away
