About this nanny job

Hello, We are looking for a part-time nanny to help with our two kids who are 5 and 3. Ideally, we’d have someone start with us in mid/late August, but we are somewhat flexible on the exact timing. We live on Capitol Hill, close to Garfield Park. We also have a very sweet (but large) dog, Franklin. Our kids will both will be in school starting in August (Kindergarten and Pre-K 3). We would like to find someone who can work in the afternoon, ideally from around 3 pm- 7 pm. Main responsibilities would be picking up both kids from school and spending time with them in the afternoons, as well as helping with their dinner and evening routine. We would like to find someone who could be available to watch them on days when there is early dismissal (12 pm) from school, as well as full days when their school is closed (hours on those days would be 8 am-6 pm). We have their school calendars and know what days those are, so we could plan well in advance. We will need summer care for them when the school year is done, and so would love to find someone who would be able to provide full-time care in the summer months (June/July/August). We prefer someone who has a car and would be comfortable driving the kids occasionally. We belong to a pool in Virginia, and it would be great if our nanny could take the kids there! We are also very open to finding someone who would like to work more than part-time. We could add hours and have someone help with other things around the house during the day while the kids are at school—meal prep, kids laundry, light tidying up, errands, etc. If someone wanted to be closer to a full-time hours (35-40 hrs/week), perhaps a schedule could look like this (we have lots of flexibility, and could work to find the best schedule): Monday 1:30 pm-6:30 pm Tuesday 11 am-7 pm Wednesday 11 am-7 pm Thursday 11 am-7 pm Friday 1:30 pm-6:00 pm We would provide a competitive hourly rate and will use a payroll service. We follow the federal holiday schedule, and in addition you would receive 5 days vacation/leave of your choice, and 5 sick days. We would love for this position to be a long-term relationship!
