About this nanny job

Dear Nanny, We are a family of 5 – a mother, father, two girls, and one boy. We temporarily live in Orange, CA, till we can move into our house in Newport Beach this fall. We are looking for a CPR-certified long-term nanny that we consider family. A typical day would start at 7 am, feeding the kids breakfast while I am upstairs working. After breakfast, please help with the kids' dishes and laundry while the youngest enters the playroom and the oldest starts their morning homework. There is minimal teaching of the oldest. They are self-sufficient with their assignments. After the oldest completes their task, they can join the youngest in the playroom. While they play, we ask that you grade their work and if it is incorrect, please ask them to correct it. Around noon, we ask that you prepare lunch for the kids and encourage them to eat. Then, as our previous Nanny did, we invite you to read a book while the kids eat and promote an open dialog with the kids about the story. Afterward, wash their dishes and help them clean up after themself. Then, please encourage them to tidy up with you. After lunch, we ask that you take the kids outside to play. At around 2 pm, please bring them back to wash their hands and prepare a healthy snack. Your day ends at 3 pm. This schedule is for two months before school starts; then, your daily work will be more on maintaining the kids' room, preparing their lunch, breakfast, and dinner, and grading kids' work from the night while in school. If you are serious about a full-time job with our family, we compensate competitively for the right candidate. Starting compensation for a trail run is $20-25, depending on years of experience, childcare education level, and referrals' recommendations. If it is the right fit, we can offer salary and vacation time as we did with our last Nanny of 8 years. Some qualities we look for are maturity, being attentive and responsive in a timely manner, being hardworking, patience, and trustworthiness is vital. Most importantly, we ask for the basic, do you like working with kids? The kids are very much involved in the decision process since they are the ones that will be spending the most time with you; our kids have no filter.
