About Us: We are a two parent, single child family seeking a part-time caretaker to help us care for our 4.5 year old daughter (turning 5 in November 2023). Start Date: Preferably Monday, June 26 Location: Park Slope (Garfield Place between 8th Street and Prospect Park West) Proposed Typical Weekly Schedule: M: 2:30 - 6:00 (3.5 hours) T: 2:30 - 6:00 (3.5 hours) W: 2:30 - 6:00 (3.5 hours) Th: 2:30 - 10:00 (7.5 hours car home will be provided) F: 2:30 - 5:30 (3.0 hours) Total: 21 hours Flexibility is appreciated. Opportunities for extra hours on some evenings, weekends, and school holidays, if interested. Pay: $25/hr with Paid Time Off Ideal Caretaker: We are looking for someone warm, caring, and energetic to engage with our imaginative and active daughter. She is in summer camp (and then kindergarten) until 2:45pm. Duties will include picking her up from summer camp/kindergarten (approximate 12-15 minute walk from our home), bringing her to after school classes and/or playdates when scheduled, cleaning up her backpack (lunchbox, etc.) after school, helping with homework, dinner, and (if in the evening) the bedtime routine. When time allows helping with light tidying of her room, her toys, and some light meal preparation/cooking. - 5+ years of experience caring for children 4-8 years old preferred - Have 2 excellent references and willingness to undertake a background check (that we will pay for) - Must be COVID vaccinated and boosted. All family members are vaccinated and boosted. - CPR a plus (we are willing to pay for you to take this course) - Proactive, problem solver, engaging and open minded - Strong communication skills
