Part Time, starting ASAP

2 children: 7 years, 4 years
$19/hr for for 12 hours per week

We are looking for a very kind, reliable, communicative, and playful sitter to care for our two children (a 7 year old girl and almost 4 1/2 year-old boy) after school. Both kids need to be picked up at at 2:30p (they attend same school in Windsor Terrace). After school activities could be park, playground, play dates, the YMCA for a class or swim, occasional adventure somewhere, or home to play until 6:00 pm. Responsibilities would also include will be some light snack/meal prep (we like to have dinner together at 6:30, but some days the kids ask for it sooner), light cleaning (only the kids stuff -- picking up/helping them pick up and put away as they play), perhaps a bath some days. School starts Sep 7, but ee'd like to start earlier in the week of Aug 28-31 (hours to be worked out together) Days: Monday-Thursday (it's possible we could do only Tues- Thur but we'd prefer 4 days) Hours: 2:30pm to 6pm Additional Hours: If the sitter is looking for more hours, we could add in a date night once a month, but it's not a requirement nor frequent request. We do have days when a kid is sick and needs to stay home or be picked up from school early and we may ask if sitter can do it, but wouldn't expect that they could. Location: We live in an apartment in Windsor Terrace, right by the 15th street F/G stop. The kids are very playful, loving, funny, and communicative. They love to talk and pretend and put on a show. They love playing outside, mostly very independently and with their friends, but are thrilled when grownups join in the game. Our almost 4.5 old does need a motherly type who be warm and loving, help him through struggles, and play with him. Patience and gentleness are a requirement. They love music, games, sports, and play dates with friends and they are also open to new things so if the sitter has an activity idea they'll love that. Overall, after-school should be relaxed play time, so there are no strong requirements about what has to happen each day, I'm happy for the kids to follow what looks good to them and I'm sure a routine will emerge. We have many friends in the neighborhood so it's never hard to find entertainment or playmates. I think it would be a great fit for an energetic college student who has morning classes, or a part-time nanny, and we'd like a commitment to work with us through the school year. Punctuality, reliability, and communication are very im
