About this nanny job

We’re looking for a full-time nanny from March to September for our 8 month baby, ideally someone with 5+ years of childcare experience. Hours would be 9:30am-5:30pm, though we are open to 9-5 or 10-6 as well. We live in Morningside Heights next to Columbia University, right next to Morningside Park and close to Riverside Park. Duties include looking after our son, cleaning up after him (putting toys away, wiping down the highchair, putting bottles in the dishwasher), and light meal preparation (steaming or reheating prepared food). Our son eats 1-2 solid meals a day, and we encourage him to feed himself with finger foods. If the weather is good, we like to take him outside for a walk in the stroller. Our son is on a consistent nap schedule (usually naps 3 hrs a day) and is able to fall asleep on his own, sometimes with a few minutes of light crying. We are also diligent about recording when he eats, sleeps and poos, and are looking for a nanny who can follow our routines. We are very COVID cautious: we don’t have any close contacts outside of our household of 3 (parents and baby) and rarely go indoors except for necessities like doctor visits and grocery shopping. We are looking for a nanny with limited close contacts and who exercises a high degree of caution: always wears a mask when indoors, carefully screens their close contacts, avoids too much unnecessary indoor activity. We would prefer to pay on the books at a rate of $20-25/hour depending on experience and whether the nanny is vaccinated.
