Founded in 2011, UrbanSitter was born out of the desire to make it simpler for parents to find great babysitters through their friends and social circles. After all, what's more trusted than a recommendation from a friend?
Parents eagerly came in droves to find trusted child care—first for date nights and backup care because UrbanSitter's 'on-demand' booking made that so easy, then for part-time and full-time care, when parents found caregivers they absolutely couldn't live without. Likewise, caregivers rushed to UrbanSitter to find their pick of flexible, well-paid jobs.
As we innovated UrbanSitter's apps and site, we realized families' need for more caregiving services, and added tutoring, pet sitting, senior care, and household services like housekeeping. We then made a full selection of caregiving services available to hundreds of thousands of families through UrbanSitter's Corporate Care Benefit.
Along the way, we've listened intently to our customers' needs and met them, and in turn, we've heard inspiring stories about how UrbanSitter has changed life for the better, enabling a single mom to have "me time" or helping a sitter pay her way through college.
