About this nanny job

Looking to build a roster of a couple local babysitters for occasional support this summer and into next year. (We are in Leonia, NJ and would strongly prefer NJ-based sitters since travel between NYC and NJ is expensive and traffic-dependent.) We have a sweet and rambunctious toddler and a very smiley baby. Currently, the work would involve caring for only the toddler, but we may increase our needs later on (and would certainly compensate you more if you were caring for both kids at once). One typical need we have is periodic weeknights 4:30-7:30pm, particularly when one parent is out late. This might involve picking up the toddler at daycare and walking him home in the stroller (~15 minute walk) and then playing with him until dinner time, eating with him, and maybe helping with some or all of bedtime routine. All the while, at least one parent would be home with the baby. Another typical need would be a weekend, a few hours in the morning or afternoon, also to play with the toddler while parents are home with baby and trying to get stuff done around the house. If it's working well, we may have future needs for date nights or other care (for one or both kids -- we can discuss) while parents are out. Ideal candidate would be a high school or college student with a flexible schedule, but we are open to other kinds of candidates as well. Again, strongly prefer local NJ babysitters because of the complex commute from NYC.
