About this nanny job

We’re a warm family in Van Nuys looking for a reliable, caring babysitter for our 3-year-old daughter, Amarissa. She’s bright, energetic, and loves pretend cooking, painting, and play-doh. We also have a sweet 12-year-old Shih Tzu, so being comfortable around pets is important. Amarissa attends a Montessori school located just a short walk (~0.2 miles) from our home. We’re looking for someone 3x a week to pick her up by 5:30pm and watch her for a minimum of 2 hours each day, until at least 7:30pm. The specific days vary weekly based on my wife’s nursing schedule, so schedule flexibility is essential. We prefer the sitter meet at or park at our home and walk to school for pickup. A car is not required but is a plus. No car seat needed unless otherwise arranged. We provide food and snacks—light prep or cleanup is appreciated. Amarissa is toilet trained at school and working on it at home; reminders and gentle check-ins are helpful. We value kindness, creativity, and active play—she has a fun back playroom full of toys. We'd love a sitter who encourages imaginative engagement instead of screen time. We’re also open to bilingual or multilingual caregivers (we speak mostly English but some Thai and Spanish). CPR certification is preferred. For safety, our home has cameras in the main house, and we plan to install one in the back play area. A parent may occasionally arrive before your shift ends.
