About this nanny job

We are looking for a part-time Spanish-speaking nanny/house manager beginning August 19th, 2024. Hours: 2:30-5:30pm Monday-Friday. We are flexible on starting earlier or going later if more hours are desired (going from 15 to 20 hours per week). Location: Home and school are located in Tarrytown (78703) Key responsibilities: - Picking up one child (aged 5) from school (pick-up is at 3pm) - Speaking Spanish with the child (who is already a Spanish speaker) - Assisting with light housework (tidying up, laundry, dishes, unboxing packages, etc.). - Picking up the child from school and bringing her home (or to an after-school activity); we will provide a car seat and can discuss using our vehicle if preferred - Preparing a healthy snack and then engaging with the child solely in Spanish, ensuring she completes any homework, setting up age appropriate activities, or just ensuring the safety of our child while she plays independently in our home - Maintaining a calm environment (with no use of screens) - Occasional pickups of the younger sibling (aged 3) on days when pre-school lets out early Compensation: - Commensurate with experience, in the range of $22-30 per hour. Requirements: - Native or fluent Spanish speaker is required; some English is preferred - 3+ years of experience watching toddlers or small children - Clean background check - Drivers license - Non-smoker - CPR/First Aid certified, or willing to get recertified (we will cover the cost) - 2 references About us: - We have worked with two other long-term (Spanish-speaking) nannies for 4 years before the kids were in school. We're happy to provide their names as references for us as a family. - We are a fun family of four who have lived in Austin for 7 years. Both parents work full-time out of the home, with offices very close to school and home. We are laid back and fun people. Both parents are conversationally fluent in Spanish, but the kids are fully fluent from school and prior nannies.
