Meet college nannies and sitters from Grinnell College

Hi! My name is Elinor, and I’d love to connect with your family! I moved to Oakland two years ago and currently teach 7th grade. As the eldest of four kids, taking care of children has always been second nature to me—I started babysitting when I was 14 and haven't stopped since! While I love teaching during the school day, babysitting outside of school hours allows me to keep working with kids of all ages while helping me make ends meet. I'm open to all types of jobs and bring a ton of flexibility! During the school year, I'm mostly available for afterschool care and weekends, as well as during school breaks and holidays. I am also available for house sitting and pet sitting, both of which I have done many times over the years. I am fully open to traveling with families and doing overnight stay care as well. Beyond child care, I have a lot of experience with—and genuinely love—organizing. I'm always happy to jump in and help out with household chores, whether that's laundry, meal prep, or keeping things tidy and running smoothly. I hold a degree in History and Secondary Education from Grinnell College, along with CPR and First Aid certifications. Beyond standard babysitting, I teach 7th grade English and 8th grade math, so I am always happy to provide tutoring or homework help if your child needs extra support! Over the years, I've worked as a nanny, camp counselor, and swim instructor, so I’m comfortable with everything from driving to after-school activities and meal prep to organizing fun outdoor games and keeping kids engaged.
