About this nanny job

We are seeking a reliable, thoughtful, and experienced part-time nanny to provide attentive childcare for our 2-year-old son. The primary duties include picking him up from his nearby daycare, transportation safely home, and engaging him in age-appropriate activities until we return. Days and hours vary each week. Responsibilities: Safe transportation: Pick up from daycare at the designated time and transport safely home in a vehicle with an approved car seat (we will provide). Supervision: Provide watchful, in-home care until parents arrive home. Meal preparation: Prepare and serve a healthy, child-friendly meal for dinner. Hygiene and routines: Assist with after-daycare routines, including washing hands, changing clothes, dinner, bath/shower, and bed time; and assisting with using the potty. Engaging activities: Plan fun and educational activities, such as reading, puzzles, arts and crafts, outside play (park near our house) and active indoor play. Play area cleanup: Tidy up toys, art supplies, and the kitchen after use. Nanny should leave the child's area neat and organized. Communication: Maintain open and clear communication with parents, providing updates and any notable developments. Qualifications and skills Prior experience caring for toddlers is essential. Safe driver: Must have a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and confidence driving with a toddler and using a car seat. A car seat will be provided. Certifications: Current CPR and First Aid certifications are required (or willingness to obtain). Passion for child development: A genuine interest in fostering a child's social, emotional, and intellectual growth. Key traits: Patience, reliability, positivity, and excellent communication skills are a must. References: Must provide at least two professional references. Favorable credit and background check are required. Compensation/Pay rate: Commensurate with experience Additional expectations Professional conduct: Maintain a professional and respectful relationship with the family. Adherence to rules: Follow the family's house rules and child-rearing philosophies.
