Hi, my name is Shaina. I began my career working with people with disabilities before transitioning into childcare fourteen years ago. Since then, I have worked as a camp counselor and an after-school teacher with the YMCA, as well as a substitute teacher with the San Francisco Unified School District. I currently specialize in early childhood development, helping infants and toddlers reach important developmental milestones through age-appropriate activities, attentive care, and nurturing support. I create engaging opportunities that encourage language development, fine and gross motor skills, cognitive growth, emotional regulation, and social development. By incorporating purposeful play, reading, music, sensory exploration, and consistent routines into each day, I help children build confidence, independence, and a lifelong love of learning. My approach to childcare goes beyond meeting a child’s daily needs. I strive to raise children with strong emotional intelligence, helping them understand and manage their emotions, confidently verbalize their wants and needs, and develop the skills they need to succeed in school. I believe children thrive when they feel heard, supported, and empowered to express themselves. In addition to nannying, I love babysitting in my spare time because it allows me to continue expanding my childcare experience while connecting with children of all ages. I enjoy planning fun age-appropriate activities, playing games, making crafts, reading stories, and dancing. I absolutely love what I do and take every opportunity to advance my experience while giving attentive loving care to the children I work with. Over the years, I have completed extensive training in teaching, childcare, STEM, HEPA, CPR, CAP, and CPI. I am currently seeking part-time nannying and date-night opportunities. Someday, I hope to open my own daycare; for now, I am continuing to broaden my experience and make a positive difference in the lives of the children and families I work with.

$22 per hour for 1 child
Booked by 22 families in Chicago, IL

Hello my name is Yancy. I recently graduated from SIUC with a BA in psychology. I have taken courses in child development. I have also worked at a daycare. I was a lead teacher to a classroom or about 15-20 students ranging from the ages of 3-5. But I also have experience working with infants and other ages. I am CPR certified.

We were really impressed with Yancy! She has a calm and warm energy and our kids both loved her. Even our 4-year-old who has just wanted to be with his parents, quickly took to Yancy. She's reliable, a good communicator, and helped keep things clean in our home. When there was downtime she didn't just sit around, but was proactive in tidying up and helping make sure things were ready for when the kids were up from naptime. Will definitely reach out to Yancy next time we need babysitting support.

Hi families! My name is Jeannette, and I’m a loving, caring, and compassionate nanny with over 15 years of hands-on childcare experience. I’ve dedicated my life to nurturing and supporting children of all ages—from newborns and toddlers to school-aged kids and preteens. I bring warmth, patience, and a positive attitude to every family I work with. My childcare journey began in high school as a part-time nanny, and since then, I’ve worked in Early Head Start programs, cared for children with special needs, and supported families with everything from daily routines to overnight care. I am CPR and first aid certified, bilingual in English and Spanish, and currently work full-time as a Special Education Classroom Assistant in a public school. During summers, weekends, and evenings, I continue to nanny for wonderful families who need an extra set of loving hands. I’m energetic, creative, and love engaging kids in developmentally appropriate play, outdoor adventures, arts and crafts, and learning activities. I take pride in building trusting relationships with children and their parents and always strive to create a safe, joyful, and supportive environment. Whether you need part-time care, backup help, summer coverage, or a reliable sitter for date nights, I’m here to help. I understand how important it is to find someone you can count on—and I don’t take that responsibility lightly. Thank you for considering me to care for your little ones. I look forward to meeting you and becoming a trusted part of your child’s life! Warmly, Jeannette

Jeannette was absolutely amazing! She was extremely professional, thorough, and did an incredible job cleaning my house. Everything looked spotless and refreshed when she was done! She’s also so friendly, kind, and wonderful to work with. I’m so glad I had the chance to meet her and experience her services. I highly recommend Jeannette to anyone looking for a reliable and fantastic cleaner!

Greetings! My name is Daniela, and I am 29 years old. I have over 8 years of experience working as a nanny and sitter for both short-term and long-term families. I view caring for children as a job that requires responsibility, diligence, patience, and, most importantly, genuine care and appreciation for both the children and their families. I truly enjoy creating a safe, nurturing, and positive environment where children can learn, grow, and have fun. As a nanny and sitter, I love engaging children in activities that are both fun and beneficial to their development, including puzzles, reading, creative activities, outdoor play, and helping with homework. I also have a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology, which has given me additional knowledge and understanding of child development, communication, emotional well-being, and creating supportive relationships with children. A few fun facts about me: I am a huge country music fan and a proud Cubs fan! I look forward to getting to know your family and creating a caring and enjoyable experience for your little ones.

"We absolutely LOVE Isa — our family was so fortunate to have found her through UrbanSitter. I'm a first-time mom, and it took me a long time to find a full-time nanny I could trust to care for our sweet infant boy. Our boy connected with her immediately, and we couldn't have asked for anyone else to care for him. Her calming presence was also perfect for parents like us who work from home. We feel so lucky UrbanSitter helped us find someone who has truly become a part of our family."

"I was so stressed about finding a part-time nanny for my 14-month-old son, who has moderate separation anxiety and hadn't been left with anyone but family before, but we were both immediately at ease in Buhay's presence. Her empathy and commitment to understanding child development are apparent in every interaction I've witnessed between her and my toddler. I feel very lucky to have found her."

"Erna watched our now 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son for a few years. She is punctual, responsible, honest, and playful. What we appreciated most was that she was thoughtful in ensuring that we had a little break; for example, when the kids were clingy, she was able to divert their attention with games or songs or walks to the park. We felt very comfortable leaving our kids with Erna because of her caring nature and experience that spans a decade (including being a live-in nanny)."
