About this nanny job

I am a professor at Texas A&M University. My wife and I have two beautiful children, a one-and-a-half-year-old boy and a three-year-old girl. Both children are curious, adventurous and intelligent. Our younger is a cheerful boy who loves to cuddle and play, but sometimes struggles with naps. Our older is an enthusiastic and determined girl who loves to use her imagination. We are expecting another child at the end of October/beginning of November and are looking for some extra help during the late stages of my wife’s pregnancy, most likely 1 day a week while I am at work for 4-5 weeks (Thursdays preferred, but Tuesdays also possible). Times are flexible but would likely be from around 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. We may also need some caregiving help after the new baby is born. Our ideal caregiver will have: • lots of patience • experience caring for multiple children • training in first aid and CPR • ability to work with toddlers experiencing challenges related to sensory sensitivity and demand avoidance You will need to: • care for both our children during the day • put our younger child down for a nap (at about 1:30 pm) and get our older child ready for her quiet time alone in her room (variable but around the same time) • manage lunch and morning/afternoon snacks • clean up from meals/play My wife will mostly be home when you are here, and may use the time to rest or get other work done around the home.
