About this nanny job

About us Warm, loving, fun and very busy family in Oakland with two kiddos (Mason 4.5, Micah 2.5) and a very sweet dog (Billie). We’re looking for a proactive, organized helper who can keep the home humming (50%), follow recipes to prep simple family meals (25%), and support the kids (25%). Schedule ~15 hours/week: 3 days/week × ~5 hours/day (days/times TBD; we need to figure out the cadence that works for all of us the first few weeks) HOURS: ~2-8pm Start: ASAP with a 1-month trial; ongoing thereafter Pay* & extras $30/hour -- Paid every other week cash, direct deposit or venmo/cashapp/zelle *We’re open to discussion; We will reimburse you for gas when you drive for us - driving the boys, errands, and pickups (if not in our car). Background check and 2–3 professional references required Duties Kids — “all things kids” School/activity drop-offs & pick-ups within ~15 miles of Oakland (family car provided when driving kids) Play at home and parks; age-appropriate, developmentally rich activities Homework help/reading; simple routines and transitions Kid meal/snack/lunch prep from provided recipes and groceries Tidy kid spaces and coach clean-up; basic closet upkeep Pack backpacks/lunches and reset for the next day Meals & snacks Confidently follow our recipes exactly for dinners and snacks Portion/label/store safely; keep a simple “low on” list Family assistant (primary focus) Daily tidying/organization of common areas; dishes Kids’ rooms and playroom organization; light household projects Errands: grocery shopping, mail packages/returns; etc.
