About this nanny job

Seeking a babysitter with experience working with children on the autism spectrum. Our 11 year old, high-functioning son enjoys long drives to calm and unwind after school. Sometimes he likes to break up drives with visits to the beach or a playground. Other times he is happy sitting in the car the entire time. Must be observant and sensitive and willing to learn our son’s sensory diet and assist him as needed with regulation. While our son enjoys playful babysitters, sometimes he is so tired by mid-afternoon that the babysitter must be able to read the situation and adapt interactions accordingly. Sometimes he is ready to get in the car at 2 p.m. and other times he is only ready to leave as late as 4:30 p.m. We will pay for a babysitter to either wait in the car outside our home until he is ready to leave or pick up our daughter from school during this time. Drives last until 6:30 p.m. An excellent driving record is a must! Babysitter may use our car for the drives. We will begin with one afternoon a week with the potential to add more afternoons. We are flexible on which afternoon works best with babysitter.
