About this nanny job

Our family is looking for a part time nanny to care for our 7 month old son and to support our 4 year old daughter and 6 year old son outside of school hours when mom is with the baby. The ideal candidate loves working with infants, has a warm and gentle demeanor, has a min. 2 years childcare experience, enjoys being in nature / active outdoors and is willing to collaborate with parents on all aspects of childcare. Must be enthusiastic, adventurous, energetic, fun, grounded, organized, proactive, willing to pitch-in, and an excellent communicator. Fundamentally, we are seeking the right person to join our team in caring for our children and supporting our household. We are looking for someone who can be flexible and willing to jump in where needed on a given day. An interest / willingness to travel with the family is a plus, but not required. As parents, we are very intentional in the experiences we provide our children and believe in mutual respect between child /caregiver. We seek to support our children’s interests and to make sure they feel nurtured, and are able to experience beauty, wonder and a connection with nature. We allow them to follow their innate curiosities and explore the world around them in a safe and supportive way. Neither of our children engage with screens and we try to limit parental phone usage around them - we would ask the same of a nanny. We seek to be 100% present when with our children. The applicant should be aligned with this philosophy. We live in the Lower Haight in San Francisco with easy access to Golden Gate Park and a number of local playgrounds / parks within walking distance. Our family is active and enjoys exploring all the amenities, parks and cultural activities the city has to offer. We would ask the applicant to do the same with our son in an age appropriate way. Potential applicants should be comfortable navigating an urban environment on foot with a stroller (and not intimidated by walking up hills)! Requirements A genuine interest in working with babies & kids! Be 100% present when with our children Excellent references 2+ years childcare experience, minimum 6 months’ infant care Infant CPR / First Aid (or willingness to complete) Non-smoker (preferred but not req’d) Ability to drive & valid CA driver’s license (preferred but not req’d) Interest / willingness to travel with family
