About this nanny job

We're seeking a reliable, proactive family assistant to help our household run smoothly. This role combines household management with childcare for our toddler daughter during afternoon/evening hours. Schedule: - Monday-Thursday, 3pm-7pm (flexible) - Occasional weekend hours as needed - Guaranteed 20hrs/week - Date night babysitting and occasional overnights as we build trust Start date: Trial days ASAP, aiming to be locked into a regular schedule on January 26, 2026. We have travel coming up over the next few weeks/holidays, so can work with you to find the right days/times until then! Primary Responsibilities: Family Assistant Duties (Priority): - Preparing lunches and dinners for our daughter and assisting with weekly meal prep - Grocery shopping and restocking household essentials - Managing our daughter’s laundry - Organizing and maintaining tidy common areas, nursery, kitchen - Occasional miscellaneous errands Childcare: - Supervising our daughter during part of the 3-7pm window while parents finish up work tasks - Managing dinner and bedtime routine preparation - Caring for our daughter when she's mildly to moderately ill Ideal Candidate: - Experienced with household management and comfortable multitasking with a toddler around - Excellent time management and organizational skills - Reliable and communicative - Comfortable working independently in a home adjusting to new schedules and life demands Compensation & Benefits: - Competitive hourly rate based on experience, starting at $25/hr - Guaranteed hours (includes sick days and holidays) - Opportunity for additional hours and overtime About Us: My husband and I both work in tech, but he’s about to start a much more demanding job that will dramatically change our current household dynamic. I will need help managing the home and freeing up enough time for us both to spend the most meaningful hours with our daughter Kal. Our time with her is precious and we want to maximize it during the week. Kal is bright, verbal, and engaging – she genuinely loves new people and enjoys playing and “helping” around the house. She has her own room with books and toys that are generally safe to leave her with while doing household chores (with the occasional pop-in, of course!). We’re generally chill and prefer a friendly and direct communication style. We worked with an incredible full-time nanny before Kal went to daycare, and would love to find a similar connection with someone for this role!
