About this nanny job

We are seeking a warm, attentive, and developmentally-focused part-time nanny to care for our 5-month-old. We are also open to graduate students studying early childhood development, special education, child psychology, PT/OT, speech, or a related field. We really prioritize cleanliness, clear communication, and most importantly, engaging our baby with age-appropriate interaction, including incorporating physical-therapy exercises during playtime to support early gross motor development Location: Upper East Side, NYC Hours: 25 hrs per week, additional hours available on an as needed basis Specific responsibilities include: - Provide attentive and loving care to our baby throughout the day - Maintain strict cleanliness and hygiene (washing bottles, hand hygiene, keeping play, changing, and feeding areas clean and organized) - Implement development-focused play (tummy time, supported sitting, rolling, supported situps, stretching, grasping, other strengthening exercises) - Help reinforce gross motor skill exercises recommended by our pediatric physical therapist - Maintain predictable routines around feeding, naps, play windows - Clearly communicate issues as needed Qualifications: - Experience caring for <1 year old infants - Comfort incorporating guided physical therapy techniques into play (we will do this together) - Excellent communication skills - Punctual, reliable, organized - Up to date on vaccinations - CPR / First Aid certified (or willing to train) Preferred but not required: - Current graduate student in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, PT / OT, or related field - Knowledge of early gross motor milestones
