About this babysitting job

I’m seeking help taking care of my daughters (ages 7 and almost 4) during our evening routine. --- Our routine includes dinner, getting ready for the next school day, brushing/flossing, drawing curtains to reduce light/allow for sleepy feelings, bathtime, and bedtime. I cool the house down to 65 degrees F for the girls' bedtime, so you may want to bring a sweater if you get cold easily! --- I’ll be helping with all of this unless I need to help a client. In that case, I’ll rely on you to keep our evening routine on track as much as possible until I can return to it. --- There's a checklist on the fridge to help keep track of what still needs to be done. There are also details on where to find things and how I usually do things. --- There is free, easy street parking in front of our house, and you would be more than welcome to any of our food while you’re here. If you’d like to help, I’d love to hear from you! ----- About us: We live in Palo Alto, and my daughters’ mother lives close by. I'm responsible for my daughters 3 days per week. --- Regarding kindness: I aim for the adults in my house to be kind to children, even and especially when a child is suffering from negative, destructive, sad, difficult, angry, etc. emotions, gently helping the child to understand their own emotions and others’ emotions without criticism or judgment of the emotions, without trying to distract the child from the emotions, etc. On a related note, I don't try to force or pressure children to share, say nice things, say they're sorry, etc. I have faith that my girls will develop kindness and other character strengths by observation of the role models in their lives over the long run. Regarding food: I generally don’t have treats in my house, so the girls are generally free to eat (or not eat) what they want.
