I am a Care Coach with Cariloop, an approved UrbanSitter partner, looking to fulfill a part-time, young adult with special needs (19 years old) job for a family on UrbanSitter with the following need: Hi! We are a family looking for a caregiver who is dependable and consistent, who can help care for our son and support his independence. The caregiver needs to have the ability to alternate learning styles to accommodate his cognitive challenges. We have found that this is not a one method to adopt for all circumstances. The caregiver will need to assess the situation and adapt to meet the needs. Adaptability and flexibility are key. Clear communication with the parents on the needs of the caregiver and availability is key. Hours needed include: Monday/Wednesday from 2 pm - 5 pm and Tuesday/Thursday for 4-6 hours; flexible start time between 11 am - 12 pm. Please respond only if you have experience with everything described below: Experience working with young adults is preferable. Experience with autism AND non-combative complex mental health diseases such as OCD, ADHD, and General Anxiety, or the willingness to research and learn, is critical. We can offer support with consultations with our son's current therapists, who can help with learning and developing skills needed to meet his needs. The ability to provide transportation is required.
