$25 per hour for 1 child

I have been a preschool teacher for 5 years and it's my dream job. Working with children is the most rewarding thing I've ever done. In addition to my experience, I have 30 units of college coursework in Early Childhood Education. I've worked with both adults and children with learning and behavioral differences and am kind, compassionate, and nurturing. As a mom of two teenagers, I know how hard it is to trust someone to take care of your children. I have excellent references from 4 different preschools including a nature school, Waldorf preschool, and the Multicultural Children's Center here in Santa Rosa. I am currently a teacher at a large family farm and daycare. I am comfortable taking care of animals. Cats, dogs, farm animals...I love them all! In my spare time, I love to get outside and hike and swim. I'm an avid concert/theater goer as well. I hope to hear from you!

I’m a caring and dependable babysitter with 7 years of experience looking after children of all ages. Along with professional experience, I regularly babysit my nieces and nephews, which includes school pick-ups, homework help, and fun activities like going to the park or doing creative projects together. I love keeping kids engaged, active, and safe while also following each family’s routines and expectations. Families describe me as reliable, patient, and easy to connect with, and I always bring a positive attitude into the home. In addition to childcare, I also have experience fostering cats and volunteering at an animal shelter, so I’m comfortable with pets too. Whether it’s after-school care, evenings, or weekends, I’m flexible to meet your family’s needs. My goal is to create a safe, fun, and nurturing environment where kids feel cared for and parents have peace of mind.

$25 per hour for 1 child

Hi! I'm a recent high school graduate, attending community college in the fall. I'm looking for an occasional or part-time job doing something I enjoy-- and I love working with kids! If I find we are a good fit, I'm open to considering longer-term options. Experience & Qualifications: I have some babysitting experience with another local family who I babysat for occasionally throughout high school. Their kids were 4 and 7 at the start. I've also worked as a substitute classroom aid at the German Language School of the North Bay in Novato and mostly substituted in the kindergarten class which had kids ranging from 3 to 6 years old. If you'd like to know more about paid work and volunteer work I've done, I'd be happy to send you my resume or discuss this further. I'm happy to provide references as well. Just reach out! Note that I haven't had formal tutoring experience but would be comfortable assisting a child in learning all the teaching skills listed on my profile. I plan on becoming CPR/First Aid/AED certified for infants, children and adults this August! Background & Childcare Approach: I was educated in Waldorf schools from preschool to 12th grade. My childcare approach emphasizes being a nurturing emotional presence for children. I believe children don’t need to become someone. They already are someone. And I believe it’s my job to help that unfolding happen safely, while letting them grow into themselves. To gain skills to increase their safety in the world rather than hide from it. To learn to distinguish good risks to take from harmful or dangerous risks. I want to encourage them to play hard and I use kindness as a guiding principle in everything. I hope to help them build healthy confidence, knowing they are capable and can do hard things– and are able to ask for help. I value a healthy and age-appropriate transparency between child and adult, enough for children to know that adults aren’t perfect and we don’t expect them to be perfect either. I hope to teach them humility by example so that they too can learn to say “that wasn’t my best moment, and I know how to come back and repair.” I hope to bring these values into a warm family household that also shares them. Best, Sofia
