Hello everyone, ********Thank you for considering me for a booking request. However, I must request that you refrain from submitting a booking until you have had the opportunity to communicate with me. As a substitute teacher, I am currently unable to accommodate short-notice bookings.********* In my free time, I enjoy nature walks with my family, baking, circuit-based crafts, solving puzzles and Sudoku, making silly songs with my kids, and reading. These activities allow me to keep kids entertained without screens. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in biology from Montclair State University. Plus, I’ve been teaching online for over five years, and I’ve also worked as a professional nanny and in daycare centers. I am delighted to provide childcare and nurturing for families. I can drive children to parks, museums, ice skating arenas, and sports practices at the YMCA, JCC, and various facilities. I am highly engaging with children of all ages, even when managing multiple children.
Resume Link:[removed] Hi, my name is Lindsey! I love working with children of all ages, especially infants and toddlers! I have an associate degree in early childhood education from Sauk Valley Community College and plan to pursue a bachelor's degree in the future. I have experience as a summer and after-school counselor, working with kids aged K-5th grade, and, most recently, as a full-time assistant daycare teacher in a 15-30 month classroom. I would also occasionally work in the daycare infant room when needed. One of the main reasons I love working with children is their innate love for exploration, creativity, and learning; just like myself! I believe that children need a strong, safe, and trustworthy support system to thrive, and I will provide all of those qualities. I love to sing, dance, read, write, craft, explore new places, and spend time in nature; all of which are traits that I directly apply when working with children. Furthermore, I am deeply passionate about teaching children age-appropriate emotional intelligence and regulation. While working in daycare, I taught my toddlers the names and feelings of different emotions, breathing exercises, how to find a trusted adult in times of emotional distress, how to say to a peer “Stop!” and “I do not like that!”, healthy ways to express anger, frustration, or other “upset” emotions without physically harming oneself or others, and where to find a safe and calm space to “calm their body.” For me, helping a child grow emotionally is incredibly rewarding, and I am ready and willing to nurture this growth with every child I work with. In addition to childcare, I am experienced in caring for dogs, cats, bearded dragons or similar reptiles, hedgehogs, beta fish, and parakeets (my family has had lots of pets over the years!). Additionally, having worked multiple customer service jobs and maintained the cleanliness of a toddler classroom, I am highly experienced in housekeeping services and running errands.
“Great!!”
Hello! I am a loving, playful, creative professional Ballerina, Early Childhood Educator, and Nanny. I have been a regular part time nanny for multiple families in NYC for the past 10 years. (I am actually still with a family that I met when I first joined Urbansitter- through the birth of their second child and a move!) I strive to provide a loving, peaceful environment, and to nurture all areas of development for these wonderful little humans. In addition to more than a decade of hands on experience, I have been trained in childhood development through movement with Dionne Kamara, and through sensory play with Jennie Monness at Union Square Play. I have since joined the staff there as a Lead Educator and a Co-Creator of the ‘Dance! Play! Ballet!’ curriculum. I base my approach to nannying on the Montessori, Reggio Emilia, and RIE philosophies that I have been exposed to and experienced in my work. I am Infant CPR/First Aid certified.
Hello! I’m a 29 year old student double majoring in Social Sciences at Columbia University. I’m originally from San Diego, CA & the Tijuana, BC area in Mexico. I’m CPR and First Aid Certified, speak English, Spanish, & conversational French. I’ve been caring for children over 10 years! I’m the best at pretend play, board games, crafts, singing and dancing with the kiddos. I clean up after all our activities which I strive to make engaging, educational, and fun; no matter the age group! I’ve cared for multiple (10+) children at a time, special needs children, have assisted at events, cared for sick children, children with allergies, and have also worked in a daycare setting environment. The ages of the children I’ve cared for range from 4 weeks - 16 years old. I have plenty references I’d be delighted to provide, including my latest long term position in the city. I can pick up/drop off and drive around your children, have a valid drivers license and clean driving record, can tutor or help with homework. I truly love spending time with children and enjoy their company, I value the flexibility of my profession and difference from a 9-5 job. I’m really excited to find a family that will be the best fit for me and hope to soon be the best fit for someone else! My goal is to provide the best service possible without a transactional experience. Thank you so much for taking the time to review my profile!
“Sylvia is great! She’s really good at communication and she’s incredibly punctual. She’s awesome with my daughter and you can tell she actually cares and wants to make the experience fun for the child. 10/10 recommend, will definitely be booking again !! ”
Hi families! My name is Natasha, and I recently graduated from Bank Street College of Education with a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Special Education. I have experience working as a preschool teacher, nanny, babysitter, and in after-school programs. Over the years, I’ve cared for children of different ages and needs, including school pickup/drop-off, evening care, overnight care, and weekend babysitting. I also have experience supporting children with special needs, including autism, sensory processing differences, and deafblindness. My background in early childhood and special education helps me create a patient, supportive, and engaging environment where children feel safe and encouraged to grow. I love planning fun and meaningful activities such as imaginative play, arts and crafts, reading, sensory activities, and outdoor adventures. One of my favorite parts of working with children is watching their confidence, creativity, and curiosity grow as they learn about the world around them. In my free time, I enjoy reading, building Legos, and visiting museums. I look forward to connecting with your family!
“Natasha arrived on time and enthusiastic to care for our son. She kept him entertained with many activities and stuck to his daily schedule. She sent updates during the day to keep us reassured. Would definitely book her again!”
