Hi, my name is Michael. I've always enjoyed working with children and helping them learn and grow. I first started working with kids in high school, where I volunteered teaching Sunday school, and today I work as a substitute teacher, mainly providing support for students with special needs. My college coursework in psychology and neuroscience has given me a deeper understanding of child development and behavior, which I bring into my work. I'm patient, empathetic, and see the importance in creating a safe environment where children feel comfortable and supported. Whether it's helping with homework, playing games, keeping a routine, or just being a stable presence, I aim to meet each child's individual needs. I am a dancer artist, educator and have worked with children my entire adult life. I have over 30 years experience teaching children of all ages, including pre-school age all the way thru high school. I have taught at the college level as well, for many years as an adjunct faculty. During the pandemic I was a full time care giver for my elderly mother and discontinued all my teaching and creative projects. I recently moved back to Philadelphia, my home of 30+ years and I am looking for part-time work as I start up my free lance work again. I am 62, married with no children of my own.
