I love being a babysitter and have been watching newborns, infants, toddlers, and kids since I was 14 years old. Hey! I’m Dream, and I really enjoy working with kids. I’ve been in early childhood education for three years, and I currently work full-time as a lead teacher at one of the biggest Head Start agencies in North Carolina, so I have lots of hands-on experience caring for and teaching children. I’m also a college student majoring in Early Childhood Education. I’m CPR/First Aid certified and I also have my North Carolina Early Childhood Credential, so I’ve got official training in the basics of caring for little ones. I especially love working with toddlers and preschoolers, helping them grow independence, confidence, and social skills through fun activities and routines. I’m patient and nurturing, but I also bring a playful energy that kids respond to. I make it a point to build trust with both kids and parents, and I focus on keeping every day safe, structured, and full of learning and fun. My experience working with children began 34 years old when my mom signed me and my sister up for a babysitting class at the Red Cross. I began caring for children of family friends and other families within the community. By college age, I found a love for volunteering for various community organizations that offered services for teens, homeless community, and my church. Caregiving comes natural for me because my parents and family members were always giving in some way or form to others. From a young age, I learned to be unselfish and see the needs of others. That translated into my adulthood and professional career. Last year I added senior care to services I can provide. I come from a musical family so I enjoy music and arts in my spare time. I also enjoy spending time and attending the games of my 10 year godson who is involved in several sports.

I have worked with kids for over twenty years with an educational background in Psychology, Childhood Studies, and African-American Studies. Also, I have recently completed my Masters degree in Counseling. I am also a RBT with autistic children. I have experience in the mental health field as well. I have worked with all ages in all capacities!
