Hi! My name is Leah, and I am 18 years old. I have been working since I was 14, graduated high school early at 17, and went directly into trade school, where I am currently working toward becoming a licensed esthetician and skin therapist. Most recently, I worked as a Teen Reading Ambassador with the New York Public Library, helping children with reading, writing, math homework, games, arts and crafts, and other activities. I have also worked with children with ADHD, dyslexia, autism, and different learning styles. One of my strongest qualities is my patience. I do not become easily frustrated, and I understand that children sometimes need extra time, a different explanation, or simply someone who will listen to them. I enjoy making kids feel comfortable, taking their ideas seriously, and keeping them safe while making sure they are having a good time. I am happy to follow any routines, household rules, meal instructions, or schedules a parent provides. I also have younger siblings and have helped my hardworking mom at home when I was younger, so I understand how much of a difference it makes to have someone who can help with meals, homework, cleaning, and keeping things organized. I know how to cook a variety of meals, and I am very comfortable cleaning, doing laundry, tidying up, and organizing spaces. Cleaning is something I have always been good at, and I take pride in doing it thoroughly. I am also interested in senior care because I enjoy talking, listening to people’s stories, and helping others feel comfortable and less alone. I would be patient and respectful while providing companionship, preparing meals, helping around the home, and following any routines or instructions the family has. I am naturally friendly, talkative, energetic, and caring, but I also know when to be calm and focused. A fun fact about me is that I started and captained my high school cheer team. Whether I am helping with childcare, senior companionship, or household tasks, my goal is to be someone a family can depend on and feel comfortable welcoming into their home.
