Spanish-Speaking Nanny Position - West Chelsea, NYC Location: West Chelsea, New York Schedule: 14 hours per week (three weekday afternoons, 4:00-8:00 PM, with one evening until 10:00 PM) Rate: $35-45/hour About the Role We’re seeking a warm, reliable nanny for our two children (ages 6 and 4) in our West Chelsea home. We need someone fluent in Spanish, as our kids are joining a Spanish immersion school and being surrounded by the language at home will support their development. Schedule Three weekday afternoons per week, typically 4:00-8:00 PM, ideally Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, with one evening until 10:00 PM (flexible which day) - 14 hours total. Pickup time could shift to 3:00 PM depending on after-school clubs. We have other childcare coverage for additional evenings, weekends, and overnights, but you’re welcome to take on these hours if interested. Key Responsibilities ∙ Pick up children from school/activities as needed ∙ Provide attentive, engaging childcare in a safe environment ∙ Supervise playtime and activities ∙ Prepare and serve dinner ∙ Prepare school snacks for the following day ∙ Manage bedtime routine (bathing, brushing teeth, bedtime stories) ∙ Light tidying related to childcare ∙ Speak with children in Spanish throughout everyday interactions, helping draw out their conversational skills Required Qualifications ∙ Previous childcare experience with children ages 3-7 ∙ Fluent Spanish speaker (native or near-native) ∙ CPR and First Aid certified (or willing to obtain) ∙ Excellent references ∙ Background check required Ideal Candidate Patient, energetic, and loves working with young children. Dependable and flexible, comfortable with routines and boundaries, skilled at managing mealtimes and bedtime. A native or fluent Spanish speaker who naturally encourages children to develop their language skills through everyday conversation and play.
