Overnight Newborn Care in Sausalito 2-7 Nights/Week About Us We are a warm and kind family with a three month old infant who sleeps in her crib but sometimes wakes during the night (half of the nights, not more than once), especially when she rotates and needs help settling again. We’re looking for calm, confident overnight support so parents can get solid rest (both parents work) while maintaining a gentle, responsive approach to sleep. Schedule 2-7 nights per week (open to discussing which, and would increase over time since our current overnight postpartum doula is moving to her next family mid February) Typical shift: 9:00/9:30 pm – 7:30 (weekday)/9 am (weekends) Start: As soon as we find the right fit Duration: At least 1 month, with potential to extend Core Responsibilities Monitor baby overnight while parents sleep. Soothe and resettle baby when she wakes/rotates in crib (rocking, shushing, replacing pacifier, etc.). Give 1 bottle feeding overnight as needed, including burping and settling back to sleep. Diaper changes and keeping baby comfortable and safe through the night. Keep a simple overnight log (wake times, feeds, diapers, notable observations) so we can track patterns using the Huckleberry app. Light baby‑related tasks only as time allows (e.g., washing bottles, tidying sleep area). We also may ask you to help with simple batch meal prep of pre-selected recipes (like instant pot stews) that wouldn't take more than an hour. Beyond that, you're welcome to rest when the baby sleeps as long as you are easily woken and responsive when she needs tending to. Ideal Experience & Qualities 3+ years of professional infant experience (night nanny, newborn care specialist, postpartum doula, or similar). Comfortable handling night wakings and helping baby back to sleep. Current infant CPR/first aid required. Reliable, up to date on routine vaccines (including Tdap; flu/COVID if possible). Calm, patient, and confident with newborns; clear communicator with parents.
