About this nanny job

We’re looking for a fun, responsible summer nanny for our two kids: a 10-year-old daughter and an 8-year-old son. Our son will attend a morning summer program in the Palisades, so a typical day will start around 9am with time spent with our daughter (playing, reading, or heading to an activity), followed by picking up our son up on time in the early afternoon . Afternoons could include trips to the pool. Our kids are still learning to swim so there is an expectation you would actively watch them, in addition to the life guards. This is a great role for a teacher/college/grad student who enjoys being active, engaging with kids, and helping create a fun but structured summer. Schedule • Summer position (dates flexible, roughly late-June to mid-August) • Monday–Friday, approximately 9am–5pm • Guaranteed weekly hours Responsibilities • Engage with and supervise two school-age kids • Drive to/from summer programs, activities, and the pool. • Plan age-appropriate activities and outings • Prepare simple lunches and snacks • Light cooking for lunch and snacks. • Light tidying related to the kids (meals, toys, backpacketc.) • Share details about the day with us. Requirements • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record • Comfortable driving locally • Comfortable supervising at the pool • Prior childcare experience preferred (babysitting, camp counselor, etc.) • Reliable, energetic, and proactive • CPR/First Aid a plus Compensation • Competitive hourly rate based on experience. • Guaranteed hours and gas reimbursement (or possibly drive our car) • Bonus for contract completion (one week salary) We’re looking for someone who genuinely enjoys spending time with kids and wants to jump in and be part of a fun summer routine — not just supervise from the sidelines.
