After-School Caregiver for a Friendly, Laid-Back Autistic Teen (Mon–Wed) $40/hr A warm, active family in San Francisco is looking for an after-school caregiver for their 17-year-old teen who is bright, curious, and loves reading, Legos, hiking, music, museums, and adventures around the city. About the Teen He is verbal, thoughtful, funny, very chill, and enjoys both quiet downtime and getting out into the community. He does well with adults, follows rules, and thrives with a caregiver who is patient, consistent, and supportive. He experiences anxiety, situational mutism, and has ADHD and autism, but is generally easygoing and regulated. He’s mostly independent but still needs someone present after school to support safety, decision-making, and companionship. Schedule Mon: 4–6pm Tue: 4–6pm Wed: 2:30–6pm (sometimes 1:40 start depending on school activities) Occasional date nights or weekend hours available Duties Be home when he arrives from school and provide gentle supervision Community outings: boba runs, walks, museums, parks, classes, pottery, etc. Transportation to activities (caregiver must have a car) Support with safe decision-making at home and online Optional academic/light homework support (Algebra) Ideal Fit Someone: Kind, calm, reliable, and safety-minded Open to both quiet afternoons at home and active outings Comfortable with a friendly dog and two cats With experience in special education, OT/PT/SLP, behavioral support, or working with neurodivergent teens Pay $40/hr Paid through a funded program (SDP/Regional Center) Additional Info The family is flexible, communicative, and great to work with. They can offer more hours during school breaks and occasional extended days if preferred and caregiver is flexible.
