I'm Sarah with Allies for Allies (an UrbanSitter approved partner) and we’re assisting a family seeking a warm, friendly caregiver to support a fun, social young adult with autism and an intellectual/developmental disability during community outings. She loves theatre, characters, costumes, and exploring new places. She is verbal, engaging, and connects quickly with others. The goal is to help her build confidence and independence through meaningful activities in the community. What You’ll Do: Support her during outings such as: • Theatre shows, rehearsals, classes • Gym, swimming, community groups • Library visits, coffee shops, dinners out • Trying new activities, hobbies, and low-pressure volunteer opportunities Support Needed: • Gentle emotional-regulation support (reassurance, redirection, help with transitions) • Awareness of sensory sensitivities (noise, lights, busy environments) • Occasional help in public restrooms • Reliable transportation required • Must be comfortable with cats Who We’re Looking For: • Experience supporting individuals with IDD/autism • Patient, grounded, and able to offer calm support during dysregulation • Outgoing and able to join in activities • Trustworthy and committed to building a long-term relationship • Family prefer caregivers closer to her age (20's) for peer-style connection
