About this nanny job

I’m Samantha (Sam), I live in McLean, VA, and I’m looking for a full-time nanny to start the first week of May for my son (3.5) and daughter (4 months) when our wonderful nanny of 2.5 years moves out of the area to be closer to family. My son is in preschool part day (3 hours now and part of the summer and 5 hours in the fall), so you would have the baby full time, and my son part-time and on days off school. I’m a solo mom by choice, so it is super important to me to find someone who is dependable and is interested in being with our little family for several years to come. I’m looking for someone responsible, caring, attentive, and proactive about organizing fun activities for my kids (parks, libraries, museums, arts & crafts, educational activities at home, etc.). My son thrives on a schedule, so I’d like to continue that for him and develop one for my daughter as she grows. I’m looking for someone with great communication skills that can keep me updated throughout the day, relay back to me any messages or reports from the preschool teachers at pick-up, and work together with me on managing the kids schedules and needs. I need someone with a reliable car, clean driving record, and comfort driving the kids for pre-school pick-up and drop-offs and outings around the area. I’d like someone organized who can handle keeping my kids’ rooms and playroom tidy, do their laundry, and otherwise clean up after messes. I’d also like them to plan and cook one healthy meal a day for my son. I work full time outside the home, and I am looking for someone who can work 50+ hours a week (7:45am-5:45pm or 8-6, Monday-Friday). I’d also like someone who has flexibility to work the occasional late day if I have a work event or need a night out with friends. All hours above 40 hours per week would be paid over time (1.5x your rate). Rate is $31-35 an hour, depending upon qualifications and past experience.
