About this nanny job
Experienced caregiver for child with ASD La Canada We're a family looking for a reliable, experienced caregiver for our 12-year-old son who has ASD (Level 1). He's bright, funny, and loves 3D printing, singing, animals, video games and engineering, but has behavioral episodes that require a calm, trained response. What you'll be doing: • Engaging him in structured and unstructured activities (outings, games, co-play, creative projects) • Maintaining a calm, consistent environment and proactively redirecting before escalations • Covering evenings and weekends so parents can work or have time off • Communicating clearly with us after each session What we're looking for: • Direct experience working with children with autism or behavioral challenges — this is required • Formal training in ABA, RBT certification, special education, or behavioral health is a strong plus • Patience, reliability, and excellent de-escalation skills • Comfortable with active, engaged care — this is not a passive role • Spanish-language fluency a plus, if applicable Schedule: The goal is to let the parents get time off and time together Pay: $28–$35/hr depending on experience and credentials Location: La Canada To apply, please send: 1.
