Nanny/House Helper Job Description Overview Part time nanny starting April 20th (or later) to help around the house and with two kids after school. 15 hours per week, 2:30pm to 5:30pm Monday through Friday. Additional evening, overnight, or weekend babysitting a possibility. About Us We are a family of 4 living in the Crocker Highlands neighborhood of Oakland. We have two boys, ages 8 and 5. Parents Julie and DJ split their time working from home and commuting to the office. We would love to find someone to work with our family that can jump in and help out with all of the things that come up with a busy family. Responsibilities Each day includes approximately 1.5 hours of housework before kids arrive home, and 1.5 hours of childcare. Housekeeping & Errands: Keeping kitchen and living areas clean and organized Dishes, tidying, sweeping (as needed), taking out trash/recycling/compost, prepping laundry for house cleaners, putting away laundry (folded by house cleaners), dry cleaning drop-off/pick-up, errands Meal Prep & Cooking: Cook dinner 2–3 nights per week Meal prep for the week including chopping, marinating, and prepping ingredients in advance Light fridge clean-out and keeping kitchen stocked and organized Childcare: Pick up R. (age 5) from school (~15 min drive) and P. (age 8) from his elementary school (walking distance) as needed Pick up boys from camps during summer. Both kids will be in the same day camps most of the summer. Both kids will be in the same elementary school starting in August. After-school playtime, activities, and occasional play date supervision Help R. with baths/showers a couple times per week Job Terms: Monday–Friday, 2:30–5:30pm at $30-32 per hour, dependent upon experience $20/week gas stipend Overnight rate: $125/night (9:30pm–7am), optional Additional hours regular rate, agreed in advance Requirements: Prior nanny/babysitter experience with references CPR certified Comfortable with dogs Valid driver's license and good driving record Able to drive kids in own car or parents' car (booster seat will be provided) English communication required Not Required: We have a weekly house cleaner so heavy cleaning is not required We have a dog walker so dog walking is not required
