About this nanny job

We are interested in finding care for our two kids. We live in the Marina by the Palace of Fine Arts. Our little girl is a hilarious, chatty, big personality, 3-year-old who attends preschool half days Tuesday and Thursday. She loves to sit and be read to, she loves to listen to her tonie (audio book) box, and she loves to paint. She is a tenacious swimmer and goes to her weekly Monday morning swim class with me at Petite Baleen (and is always very intent on earning new ribbons). Wednesdays she goes to nature class. Our little boy is the sweetest little music-loving 14-month-old. We have tallied up 12 words he can now say: dada, mama, buh-bye, hi, book, bath, ball, car, duck, uh oh, night-night, and something that sounds a little like peek-a-boo. He can walk a little bit! but he mostly crawls still. He loves to dance and climb the stairs (very competently) and he loves his big sister. His major weakness is putting stuff in his mouth, the more chokable the better! Beware dog food, rocks, sand and leaves. He does no official activities, but when he turns 18 months he'll kick off Petite Baleen with me. This baby is the easiest baby you have ever come across. He sleeps, he eats, and he giggles about stuff (seriously, you will be shocked, everyone is). Stevie is our five-year-old saint of a french bulldog. She had a much better life before these kids came around but doesn't seem to fault them for it. She loves to hang out and do whatever the kids are doing (except for going to parks that don't allow dogs)—but the beach, neighborhood walks, palace of fine arts, etc. My husband and I have been together for 9 years, married for 4. TJ loves to kitesurf, stand-up paddleboard, and rock climb. He is a very cheerful and sweet guy, and very playful with the kids. I'm a writer and make my own hours. I love to read (goes with the territory) and have actually gotten pretty into rock climbing with TJ, too! We are looking for someone who loves kids, loves to work hard, and loves to be a nanny. This job requires being very active with the kids—taking them to the them to the park, the beach, the library and playing in the backyard. It also requires doing the kids’ laundry, feeding them healthy meals, keeping the kids' toys organized, and leaving the house tidy. It’s important to always be on time, and to consistently show up. The most important thing of all is to keep the kids safe and communicate with us about the kids consistently. We can’t wait to meet you!
