We are a young British couple who moved to New York last year with our five-year-old and have since welcomed a newborn. We’re loving every bit of it. The eldest is a curious, energetic five-year-old who loves arts and crafts and has a brilliant imagination. She’s a strong communicator who responds well to people who match her energy — playful, confident and genuinely engaged. Our newborn, is doing brilliantly. She’s on a regular routine of feeds, naps and playtime as we work through her early milestones together. We’re an open, social household — life with us is varied, stimulating and fun. This is a live-in, long-term role, and our nanny would be a genuine, valued part of family life. Location: We’re moving into new accommodation in Brooklyn Heights in June 2026. We’re committed to providing a private bedroom and ideally a private bathroom (which may be shared with the children). Brooklyn Heights is tree-lined, walkable and safe, with restaurants, shops and schools nearby, waterfront views of Manhattan, and the city minutes away by subway. Hours: Monday–Friday, 8am–6pm with some flex, plus 1–2 evenings per week. Duties Daily: primary care of baby (feeding, naps, routine); general house tidying; supporting the morning routine including 1–2 school runs; school pickup 2–3 times a week with after-school activities; eldest’s dinner and packed lunch prep; bedtime setup for both girls. Weekly: children’s and adults’ laundry; unpacking grocery deliveries; monitoring and ordering baby supplies. Ad hoc: batch cooking, trip prep, seasonal organisation, activity research, sorting outgrown clothing. Who we’re looking for A confident, warm and deeply capable nanny who brings real energy and presence. Someone who communicates openly, takes initiative, and stays calm when things are unpredictable. For baby: strong, confident experience in early infant care — feeding, settling, and building a nurturing routine. For daughter : someone imaginative, playful and a little cheeky — more big sister or favourite auntie than classroom teacher. Beyond the children, someone who notices what needs doing and does it — tidy, organised, quietly proactive. Travel: we take 6–8 weeks of holidays a year and would expect the nanny on roughly half. Mostly Europe — London 2–3 times a year, plus Greek islands or skiing (villa/chalet, ~10 days). Two or three times a year we take a weekend as a couple and would ask for sole charge; we’d always be reachable.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
