About Our Family: We are a laid-back, friendly family in Petaluma with two curious and active children: Son (5) and Daughter (2). Our kids have big imaginations and love being outdoors, running around, and diving into arts and crafts. Our daughter is a true bookworm and loves being read to, our son loves adventure, playing with cars and monster trucks or reading his chapter books. We view our nanny as a vital extension of our family—someone who is comfortable in our home and ready to join our "village." The Role: This is a hybrid role for someone who is proactive and organized. You will spend the first part of your shift helping our home stay tidy and functional, and the second half engaged in active, extremely limited screen time childcare. Overall Details: - Guaranteed Hours: 25 hours per week. -- Standard Schedule: Monday – Friday, 12:30 PM – 5:30 PM. Travel & Morning Flex: - Mornings: Occasional 7:30 AM – 9:30 AM coverage (school drop-off) when a parent is traveling. Open to more consistent morning help for additional hours weekly, if interested. - Travel: Occasional opportunities to join us on family trips - Weekends: Occasional weekend help as needed. - Overnight: Occasional overnight help as needed. Responsibilities: - 12:30 PM – 2:30 PM: Household Management -- Kitchen & Dining Reset: Clean up from the morning rush and keep the dining area tidy. -- Organization: Light organization of the living room, playrooms, and kids’ bedrooms. -- Laundry: Managing the kids' laundry. -- Meal Prep: Light help with dinner prep to give us a head start on the evening. - 2:30 PM – 5:30 PM: Active Childcare -- School Pick-ups: Safe transport for both kids in our family car (clean driving record required). -- Imagination-Led Play: Facilitating outdoor play, reading books, and arts/crafts. -- Screen-Free Zone: We prioritize active engagement and creative play over technology. Qualifications: - Experience with toddlers and school-aged children. - Proactive "self-starter" mindset regarding household tasks. - Comfortable with a parent working from a home office. - Warm, friendly, and excited to become part of a local family.
