About this nanny job

Seeking a Part-Time After-School Caregiver for a 3-Year-Old Boy in Jamaica, Queens. Our son is a bright, loving, and energetic child with Level 1 Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). He attends a special education preschool program and is currently in the middle of potty training. We are looking for someone who is calm, nurturing, dependable, and preferably experienced with toddlers and/or children with autism or developmental differences. Responsibilities include: • Receiving him from the school bus at our apartment building • Supervising and engaging him in toddler activities/play • Giving snacks, fruit, water, and simple prepared foods as requested • Assisting with pull-up changes and potty training support when needed • Helping create a safe, calm, and positive after-school environment • Light cleanup related to the child only Our son may occasionally have tantrums or difficulty with transitions when tired or frustrated, so we are looking for someone patient, understanding, and emotionally supportive. Experience with ASD, special education, ABA, preschool teaching, speech/OT support, or toddler care is a strong plus, but the right personality and patience are most important to us.
