Hey Caregivers! We are a busy family of four looking for a main weekday afternoon sitter (2-6pm, M-F) and a couple of occasional sitters for date nights/weekends. We hope a few perfect candidates may well live nearby! We are located in the Hollywood/Los Feliz area. Our current and past sitters have included artists, actors, and musicians, both working and studying. A couple have now moved on to exciting new professional opportunities! So we need to find the next batch of wonderful helpers. A little about us: I (mom) am a professional musician/freelancer with a widely variable schedule. Dad is a software engineer with an extremely reliable 9-5. Our kiddos are 5 and 7 years old, and we are a neurospicy bunch! We homeschool, but we also do a million and one activities!!! Our boy is into all things dinosaurs, Mario, and Kirby! He’s a blossoming engineer just like his dad. And our girl is a visual artist, always up for more crafting, as well as a dedicated gymnast. We are looking for enthusiastic and engaged caregivers who love to connect with kids and build meaningful, lasting relationships. Flexibility is essential because sometimes the job is entirely childcare, and sometimes the job is errands/chores. Bonus if you can do a bit of both! Your own car is not required, but a current driver’s license and a clean driving record are. Experience caring for Autistic/ADHD kiddos is a plus but not a prerequisite. We are a science-based household that participates fully in preventative medical care. To keep one another as safe as possible, we are all fully vaccinated, and you should be too. We would love you to be able to come into the chaos, jump in shoulder-to-shoulder with me, and enjoy work as a mom’s teammate. Sometimes that looks like a video game buddy, other times that’s getting into crafts, schoolwork, building an obstacle course, or inventing an activity on the fly. Other days it looks like tackling the dishes, washing/folding/putting away laundry, preparing meals, and tidying up the mess that comes with a fully-lived life. And ideally, you’re the kind of go-getter who can notice what is needed without being asked. We usually start the pay rate at $25/hr as someone new is learning the family’s rhythms and routines, but we are willing to discuss increasing up to $30/hr commensurate with experience/familiarity.
