About this nanny job

We’re looking for a warm, attentive, experienced nanny/sitter for our four-month-old daughter, Naomi, in Berkeley. Naomi is a very alert, curious baby who loves engagement, being spoken to, walks, songs, books, and age-appropriate play. We’re a Mandarin-English household and are especially hoping to find someone who can speak Mandarin with her regularly as she grows, so Mandarin fluency is a preference but not a deal-breaker. We’re looking for one day per week to start, with the possibility of increasing hours if it’s a good fit for everyone. We’re somewhat flexible on the day/time and would love to find someone steady and reliable who could become part of Naomi’s routine. Both parents work remotely and will be home for much of the time, but we are looking for someone comfortable taking the lead with Naomi’s care during those hours and building their own rhythm with her. Responsibilities would include: * Attentive, engaged infant care * Talking, singing, reading, tummy time, outside walks, and developmentally appropriate play * Supporting naps and soothing as needed * Bottle feeding and basic baby care * Light child-related household tasks, such as baby laundry, bottle washing, and tidying baby items * Eventually helping prepare simple solids once Naomi reaches that stage We’re looking for someone who is: * Experienced with young infants * Warm, patient, calm, and highly attentive * Reliable and communicative * Comfortable with parents working from home * CPR/first aid certified or willing to be certified * Up to date on standard vaccines, especially Tdap/flu/COVID, preferred Bonus if you enjoy getting babies outside for walks, library story time, parks, or other gentle outings as Naomi gets older.
