Hi! We are the Tinsley family, and we’re looking for a wonderful, experienced nanny to join our home in San Carlos starting around mid-July. We’re a warm and pretty active family that really values curiosity and play, so we’re hoping to find someone who doesn’t just see this as a job but wants to become a trusted part of our household from now through the end of the year and then possibly part time after that. Our main focus is our 18-month-old daughter, who is happy, silly, and energetic. She’s a big fan of music and going to the park, and we’re really looking for someone who can help her grow through responsive care and fun, engaging, age-appropriate activities. We also have an 8-year-old son who is in elementary school for most of the day; he’s very easygoing and independent, and he’s usually busy with sports like baseball and soccer or playing board games. The role is full-time, Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm, and we’re offering a competitive rate between $35 and $45 an hour depending on your experience. The position runs through the end of the year, though there might be an option to transition to part-time after that. Along with looking after the kids and keeping screen time to a minimum, the job includes some light household help like laundry, meal prep, and running the occasional errand. We do need someone who has their own car to drive the kids to various classes or to the park. Ideally, we’re looking for someone with at least five years of childcare experience and a bachelor's degree in education or child development—a master's would be a huge plus. We really value someone who is proactive, patient, loving, and strength based, especially when it comes to supporting our daughter's developmental growth, self help, and social-emotional skills using a positive, encouraging approach.
