We are a busy, warm, active family of five based in Palo Alto, California, with three thoughtful, funny, independent kids in the tween/teen years. Our home is energetic, curious, structured, and full of conversation, books, games, outdoor adventures, learning, and family life. We are looking for an exceptional live-in or live-out nanny to start in late August or early September 2026 who is mature, highly responsible, emotionally intelligent, and genuinely enjoys working with older children. This role is ideal for someone a little nerdy in the best way: someone who enjoys libraries, learning, good conversations, board games, language practice, and helping kids develop independence, judgment, and confidence. The right person should be an extremely confident and safe driver, highly proficient in English, organized, proactive, efficient, warm, calm, emotionally steady, naturally tidy, and respectful of shared living spaces. We are looking for someone who can support tweens and teens without being overly controlling, and who can balance warmth, humor, structure, and clear expectations. The role is less about traditional care for small children and more about helping our family run smoothly: safely driving the kids to school, sports, and activities; helping maintain routines and schedules; supporting homework organization and time management; encouraging reading, conversation, games, and independent learning; and helping with light household organization related to the children. Occasional support during family travel or weekend activities may also be helpful. We offer a respectful, welcoming home with clear communication and consistent expectations.
