About this nanny job

Looking for someone to provide after daycare care for 2 boys aged 2.5 years and 6 months at the start of the contract. 5-9 pm or 5:30-9:30 pm M-F, preference for someone who can take all weekday evenings and is available weekends (can guarantee 8+ hours every weekend, generally can adjust to whichever day/hours nanny prefers), but willing to consider those who might only be available some days if it is consistent (e.g. available MFTh every week). The day would start with pick-up from daycare located 1 block away from the apartment and then watch them for 4 hours at home. Bring them home, feed them dinner (prepped but may need light prep <10 min such as baking or heating), give them a bath. Mom works at MSKCC - variable end time, could be home at 6 pm, could be home at 10 pm. When she is home she will largely be engaged with the kids but on occasion will need to be working. Mom usually does bedtime (kids sleep between 9-10 pm). About 3/4 of the time grandma will be at home - will generally be engaging with the kids, feeds the toddler, will do bedtime if mom is late; however, we expect you to be the primary caregiver/be able to care for both without assistance. The other 1/4 of the time Dad may or may not be home - works till 9+ PM, may be working from home or may be out in the office. When at home may be available for questions etc but will not be able to assist in childcare. Looking for someone who is willing to help with housework when not engaged in childcare (i.e. when mom and grandma home): tidying up kids things (wiping down toys and playmats, putting away books/toys), loading/unloading dishwasher, vacuuming/wiping things down, occasional laundry. Starts June 29 with just the baby, then grandma and the toddler will come the week after. Planning to spend ~1 year in NYC starting June 29. Preference for someone who can take the job for the year, but we know for a lot of people their main jobs are seasonal - if you can commit at least 3 months, feel free to apply. Pay is $30-40/hr depending on experience. 2 weeks PTO for the year (we ask you take these when grandma is around) and paid federal holidays and sick days. Family will also be gone 2-3 weeks outside of the holidays. Paid trial preferred - we have a friend whose toddler you could watch and she can let us know. Closest metro is Lexington Ave/63 St
