About this nanny job

Hi there. We're Jeremy and Molly, parents to a happy, curious 10-month-old boy, Javier, in DTLA. We live and work in a high-rise with a great view and plenty of space plus private parking for guests - we both work from home but his area and play area is separate from where we work. We're looking for a part-time nanny to start soon, with the role eventually growing into full-time. The schedule right now is about 4-5 hours in the morning, Monday through Friday (roughly 8-12am but we're flexible so let us know what works). Our current nanny Justine is wonderful and has been with us since January, but she is now retiring. The good news is she wants to help train whoever comes on, so there's a real handoff period here instead of you being thrown in cold. A little bit about our son: he's social, very vocal, loves being outside, and is at that age where everything is a discovery. We care deeply about developmental play and building a real bond between him and his caregiver. Justine set a high bar for that and we're hoping to find someone who connects with kids the same way. What matters to us: experience with infants and toddlers, someone who's genuinely engaged (not just keeping him alive until we get back), and flexibility as the role evolves over the next few months. Spanish fluency is a big plus since we're a bilingual household but not a necessity. If you have a background in RIE or any developmental approach, even better, but it's not a requirement. We do have 2 cats (incredibly sweet and mostly hide/sleep all day except for breakfast). We take care of them and no expectation for you to care for them, just a heads up. Some perks: you're welcome to anything in the fridge, snacks, coffee, all of it. We're very flexible so can work with you on timing. And we have a private parking spot for you so you don't have to deal with downtown parking. This is a real role with a family that values the person doing it.
