About the Family We’re a progressive family with two kids — an 8-year-old boy and a 4-year-old girl, both verbal on the autism spectrum. Dad works from his home office as an acquisitions advisor, and Mom works part-time as a pro bono immigration attorney, supporting young asylum seekers. We value positivity, friendliness, focus, and a well-run household. We’re looking for a dependable, thoughtful nanny who can become a trusted partner in keeping our home and routines running smoothly. About the Role We’re hiring a part-time nanny who is proactive, patient, and comfortable supporting children with unique learning and emotional needs. The right person will bring consistency and good judgment, while keeping the days engaging and productive. Although we have two children, you'll typically only be taking care of one child at a time. Another nanny or a parent will have the other child meanwhile. You’ll be responsible for maintaining structure, planning developmentally appropriate activities, and helping the kids grow their independence and social/emotional skills. Responsibilities Plan and lead play and learning activities that support communication and growth Handle driving to weekly activities (mileage reimbursed) Keep the household running smoothly — dishes, laundry, and tidying shared spaces Provide steady support and de-escalation when needed Communicate clearly with parents and follow established routines Saturday: 6:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Sunday: 6:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. (additional hours available on occasion) Qualifications Experience working with children, possibly including those with autism Reliable, organized, and able to manage time independently Calm under pressure, with excellent problem-solving skills Fluent in English and authorized to work in the U.S. Willing to pay taxes on earnings Valid driver’s license and clean driving record Able to complete and pass a LiveScan background check What We Offer $40/hour, paid bi-weekly Supportive, kind working environment Long-term position with consistent hours To Apply Please include your resume - candidates won't be considered without a resume.
