About this nanny job

We are looking for a loving and warm nanny to start sometime this summer (we are open to anytime July or August). Our wonderful nanny of almost 3 years is moving onto another career. Our end date with her is flexible, so we are willing to wait for the right fit. Our son Adam is 3 years old and goes to preschool part-time (9-12:30 MWF). We live in the Sunset, and are hoping to find someone who can be with us full-time (40-45 hours / week) for several years. We would ideally have a few weeks of overlap between the two nannies. We have worked with the same nanny for almost 3 years and really value building a close, collaborative relationship. Schedule: We are open to someone taking Fridays off if that’s something they are looking for. The Mon-Thu schedule will be 8 am - 6 pm (and Adam will be in preschool MWF 9-12:30) We are looking for: - Emotional attunement to children: We want someone who truly loves children, has experience with babies and toddlers, and knows how to hold firm and loving boundaries - Driving skills: The job will involve preschool dropoff and pickup 2 or 3 days/week. They will be able to use our car (we will add them to our insurance); no need to use their own car - Communication skills: We are looking for someone who values keeping an open, friendly, caring, and constructive channel of communication about Adam’s development - Cooking skills: We’d like our nanny to prepare homemade meals for Adam - Outdoors orientation: Adam loves to spend time outdoors, and we’d like our nanny to support that the two days a week he does not have preschool - Openness to some family assistant tasks: There is a fair amount of downtime (Adam is in preschool 3 mornings/week + takes an afternoon nap most days, so about 20 total hours of downtime), so openness to some family assistant tasks within agreed-upon boundaries would be appreciated.
