About Us We’re a busy single parent household in the Washington DC area with one child (age 11) and a mom who travels for work. We’re looking for a warm, reliable, and energetic person to be a trusted presence for my son — someone who can step in seamlessly during travel and provide consistent household support week to week. Gabe is into gaming, sports, and music, so someone who genuinely connects with kids his age will thrive in this role. Weekly Household Support (All Weeks) 10 hours per week of flexible household and childcare support, which may include any combination of the following: Childcare & Gabe support (no overnights outside of travel weeks): After-school supervision, snack, and homework help Driving Gabe to and from activities, sports, or other commitments Engaging with Gabe around his interests — gaming, sports, music Evening presence on nights the parent is out locally. Household tasks: Meal prep: 2 family-friendly meals per week Laundry: wash, dry, fold, and put away Light cleanup and pickup around the house Grocery shopping and household supply restocking Accepting and organizing deliveries Monitoring household inventory (paper towels, cleaning supplies, etc.) Watering plants and taking out trash/recycling on pickup days Post office runs, package returns, dry cleaning pickup/dropoff Pharmacy runs and other errands Keeping the fridge cleared of expired items and flagging low staples Coordinating with repair people or service providers when parent is unavailable Guaranteed minimum: 10 hours per week. Travel Coverage (Up to 7 Days Per Month) When I travel for work (up to 7 days per month, in one or more trips), this role expands to full childcare and household coverage. The provider stays at our home overnight. Gabe attends school 9:00 AM–3:00 PM, so midday hours are largely free. Estimated monthly hours: 65-85 hours + up to 7 overnights
