About this nanny job

Two friendly families on Capitol Hill are looking for a warm, reliable nanny to care for our two babies in a shared arrangement. We’re a relaxed, communicative pair of households and want someone who will be a consistent, loving presence for our little ones. Start date: Mid-Aug 2026 (with a few paid trial sessions in June/July to ensure we’re all a great fit) Schedule - Monday–Friday, approximately 8:45 AM – 4:45 PM (Fridays end at 4:00 PM or earlier) - ~39 hours per week, with a guaranteed minimum of 36 paid hours/week (needs may fluctuate and be more or less hours, ideally candidate has flexibility) - Primarily based in one family’s home, just a couple of blocks from the other Compensation & Benefits - Rate dependent on experience; open to paying cash or payroll - Paid biweekly - 10 paid vacation days per year (prorated for 2026) - 4 paid sick days per year - Paid holidays - We’ll cover CPR/First Aid renewal costs We’re looking for someone who is - Warm, nurturing, and genuinely loves babies - Experienced caring for multiple young children / infants at the same time - Reliable, punctual, and communicative - A non-smoker (no smoking or vaping) - Comfortable providing daily logs (feedings, naps, diapers, activities) Requirements - Current CPR (including infant) and First Aid certification, or willing to obtain before starting - Up-to-date vaccinations (MMR, Tdap, annual flu, COVID-19) - Willing to complete a background check - References from previous childcare roles A few good things to know - A typical day includes age-appropriate play and learning, meals and bottles, naps, diaper changes, tidying up the kids’ spaces, and light children’s laundry during nap time. - Local walks and outings to parks, libraries, and playgrounds are welcome and encouraged. - Driving is not required — no transportation of the children is needed at this time. - We’re a friendly, low-drama duo of families who value good communication and consistency for the kids.
