About this nanny job

After-School Caregiver / Nanny (18-20 hrs/week) We're a family in NW Portland looking for a reliable, kind and organised caregiver to help with the after-school juggle as both parents return to full-time work. We have two great kids, ages 12 and 9, who attend school in SW Portland and stay busy with sports, gymnastics and other activities throughout the week. They're independent, active, and generally need support with transportation, schedules, meals and staying on top of their responsibilities. The role is approximately 18-20 guaranteed hours per week and is focused on the after-school period. Typical responsibilities include: • School pickup • Driving to sports, gymnastics and other activities • Helping keep the kids on top of daily reading and any homework • Preparing snacks and simple, healthy dinners • Helping keep the afternoon and evening running smoothly until we're home from work • Light tidying related to the kids Typical hours are: Monday-Thursday: 3:30pm-7:00pm Friday: 2:00pm-6:00pm We're hoping to find someone who is: • Dependable and punctual • Warm, calm and organised • Comfortable managing multiple activities and schedules • A safe and confident driver • Comfortable preparing simple meals • A strong communicator • Interested in a longer-term role if the fit is right Requirements: • Reliable vehicle • Clean driving record • At least 5 years of driving experience • Strong references CPR and First Aid certification are a plus, but not required. We also have two friendly dogs, so being comfortable around pets is important, although pet care is not part of the role.
