About this nanny job

We are a close-knit family that values time together, as well as finding time for us as individuals and as a couple. We are moving to North County San Diego and look forward to settling into our home, establishing new routines, and discovering our community. We both work busy jobs from home. We enjoy hosting low-key get-togethers with small groups (backyard BBQs by the pool or wine & cheese board game nights), but no loud or raucous parties. Zach loves a good excuse to cook + bake. We have a 9lb hypoallergenic dog, Meatball. We value a collaborative, supportive bond, and welcome sharing each other's traditions. The ideal baby sitter will love and care deeply for our 2-year old son, but also support us as a teammate in our daily life and member of the household. Communication & expectation setting is key; we value ensuring our au pair gets the experience they want, too. We want our family to be a supportive base where you feel welcomed, respected, and truly at home. Our son will be in daycare 9-5, so morning help includes morning routing - get him up, change his diaper, help him get dressed, provide his breakfast, prep lunch for school, cleanup after mealtime, and drop off at school (15 min walk or 3 min drive). Evening routine would involve helping with dinner prep some days, picking Landyn up from daycare, eating dinner with us, helping Landyn with his bath routine, putting in PJs, and sometimes helping with bedtime. While there is time during the data, a little extra help tidying around the house, helping with laundry, cleaning the bottles and dishes, and preparing meals would be great. Depending on the exact arrangement, you may have much of the weekday time free if you would like to take classes or study. We would ideally like a mix of weekday and weekend support (~3-4 weekdays and 1.5-2 weekend days), but will offer at least 1 weekend a month off and can coordinate with your needs. We are interested in offering a live-in role if we can find the right fit to join our household. We are potentially open to non-live-in help with the right arrangement.
